Rapha House FAQs
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. Rapha House is a 501©(3) non-profit organization EIN: 27-2523416.
How much money really goes to projects?
Rapha House is a grassroots organization mostly made from volunteers. In the US, only a very small percentage of funds are used for overhead. Most of the executive and support staff give of their time and resources without compensation so that more girls can be rescued and helped. Donations are used to compensate the in-country staff and support the safehouses for the girls, as well as healing programs, reintegration projects, vocational training, and prevention programs. Rapha House is 100% dependent on our loyal supporters, and we are vigilant to ensure that all the resources that are provided to us are used in a fiscally responsible manner in order to realize the most good.
Can I sponsor a specific child?
Yes. But this needs some clarification. Because the children in our safehouses and transitional living programs are victims of crime, we cannot foster correspondence between them and persons other than their caregivers.
However, Rapha House operates Kids Clubs for impoverished and vulnerable boys and girls. This is part of our outreach and prevention program. We offer child sponsorships for children in our Kids Clubs.
Additionally, through our Kids Clubs, we provide social services to families to prevent the trafficking of children.
We provide children in our Kids Clubs with education, medical assistance, food, and counseling. Learn more about the Rapha House Kids Club child sponsorship program.
Does Rapha House work with corporations or commercial business partners?
If you are considering doing business in Southeast Asia, please contact Rapha House. There is an urgent need to develop income generating enterprises and vocational training programs to provide sustainable freedom and opportunities to our graduating girls and their families. Rapha House seeks to partner with corporations, business leaders, craftspeople, and Industrial experts to explore ways to establish commercial projects and entrepreneurial opportunities for our girls and their families. Examples of these would be agricultural programs, manufacturing, commercial sewing, food service and food wholesale, electro-mechanical training programs, and commercial assembly. We are open to discussion, please contact us.
The problem seems so big, can the average person really do anything to make a difference?
Yes, EVERY person has the ability to join Rapha House in the fight against child trafficking. Educate yourself, sign up for our newsletter, follow us on Facebook, understand the issue, pray, and make this is a cause that you are committed to do something about.
Decide what you can offer. Organize a community group. Join in on a short-term mission trip. Donate. Develop a fundraising program to help us help more girls. Use your special talent or expertise to help us spread the word.
It is easy to support Rapha House with a one time donation. Champion a project, or sponsor a child. We need you! But most importantly, these children need you.
Are the girls available for adoption?
No. Almost all our girls have intact biological families that still retain parental rights. Additionally, some of the countries where we work prohibit international adoptions or have strict restrictions governing the practice.
By supporting our safehouse, you make it possible for rescued girls to live in a safe and supportive environment while they receive counseling and the education to prepare them for independent living. Your support of our safehouses provide necessities each girl needs for daily living, as well as necessary medical attention.
Are traffickers and perpetrators ever caught and convicted?
Yes. Rapha House aggressively prosecutes suspects whenever possible. Our professionals work legal support teams (both government and NGOs) to secure justice for our girls whenever possible. This is another important way that we work to break the cycle of child trafficking. By giving to the Rapha House legal defense fund, you help us bring justice to the girls in our care. Help champion the cause of justice. Support Rapha House.
If I could relive my life, I would devote my entire ministry to reaching children for God!
