Mushrooms. You may not think that mushrooms could bring hope to anyone. But you’d be surprised.

Poverty is at the root of trafficking. And supplying families with real economic solutions helps keep them from becoming prey to traffickers. That’s where our mushroom farming project comes in.

Mushrooms are a staple of Asian cuisine. These delicacies command a profit in the markets of both urban and rural Cambodia. We know how to cultivate mushrooms. And we know how to train others to grow them.

At Rapha House, we’ve trained many families to grow mushrooms. But we take it a step further. We send families back to their villages with the equipment and supplies for cultivating mushrooms to sell in their local markets. That way, these families are equipped to provide an ongoing income for themselves. It’s just one example of the many innovative approaches that Rapha House takes to combat trafficking.
