How Children Come to Rapha House

At Rapha House, we work with various agencies and organizations in order to transfer girls into our care.

We applaud the efforts of individuals and departments within government that devote energy and resources in finding girls and bringing them to safety. Without the help and blessings of the government in the countries where we operate, we would be extremely limited in what we could accomplish.

Non-governmental organizations (NGOs), such as the International Organization for Migration, play an indispensable role in finding children who have been trafficked across borders. These children are repatriated to their home countries, but they are not left to fend for themselves. They are placed in organizations such as Rapha House, where we can help them with the process of healing and moving towards lasting freedom.

Within their home countries, girls are referred to us after being rescued by the police or military or with the help of NGOs involved in the work of rescue.

Sometimes girls are referred to us by local churches and pastors who have learned of their plight. And with the cooperation of local authorities, we’re able to bring abused and exploited children to safety within our programs.

Rapha House understands the wisdom and necessity of working within the framework of law and in cooperation with the authorities. We take seriously our standing as welcomed guests in our host countries. And we seek to preserve a spirit of mutual cooperation in our work.
